The Classic Daiquiri

Favorite Rum — 2 oz Simple Syrup — 3/4 oz Lime Juice — 3/4 oz Ice — ~1.5 cups (if blended)
The classic is probably lime, but as you probably know, many people have taken this in many different flavor directions. This is a drink you'll find more likely blended, but it's not shunned upon strained. For straining, fill the shaker nice and heavy but leave enough room to actually shake it — vigorously! For blending, use about 1.5 cups of ice, but use your best judgement — don't water it down! Too much time in the shaker, watered down. Too much ice in the blender, watered down. Now for the flavors: lime is the classic, but you've probably seen it all — banana, strawberry, even rhubarb (tasted like an organic garden)! There are about two tricks left here: sub out the lime for your favorite fruit or fruity liqueur, and/or sub the simple syrup for triple sec or an orange liqueur. If you like all kinds of rum, it's probably best to pair the dark/light or spiced rum with your favorite flavor.
